Respondology partners with the Detroit Lions to tackle online toxicity in NFL social media channels. With advanced technology and human moderation, they're creating safer and more welcoming spaces for fans.

The wave of NFL teams that have signed on to combat online toxicity continues.

Respondology and the Detroit Lions have teamed up to continue to help foster a positive impact in the NFL by making teams’ social media channels safe and comfortable spaces for fans to express themselves, without vulgarities, racism, homophobia, spam and bots.

Many teams in the NFL, NHL, NBA, the English Premier League and NASCAR are now opting for this protection. Respondology’s technology allows for immediate removal of hate speech and spam clutter. Their platform, Moderate by Respondology can be set to automatically hide comments and it is bolstered by a team of US-based human moderators. Their tools and service are used by social media teams worldwide.

“We rely on our digital spaces to foster meaningful engagement with our fans outside the stadium, said Detroit Lions Vice President of Marketing Emily Griffin. “Respondology’s technology makes our social channels more welcoming – free from the clutter that is all too common online today.”

Erik Swain, President of Respondology, adds that, “We are so proud to partner with the Detroit Lions, they are at the leading edge of using technology to combat the abuse found on social media and we applaud them and welcome them to the Respondology family. We continue to hear from the sports industry that enough is enough, they want their social platforms to be useful places for their fans.”
